Shortwave Radio Schedules
This application provides comprehensive schedules and frequencies for shortwave radio broadcasts worldwide. Additionally, it includes information on utility stations and the Firedrake jammer, among others.
The data is sourced from the Eibi schedule (http://www.eibispace.de/) and the AOKI Schedule.
Location permissions are utilized for mapping features using the Google Maps API and for displaying your current location on a map.
The Premium Version, available as an In-App Purchase, offers the following enhancements:
- “Now” feature displaying stations currently on air in each SW band
- Favourites tab for storing and easily accessing frequencies of preferred stations
- SDR audio option to listen to live station audio through a selection of SDRs including Twente WebSDR and various KiwiSDRs. Additional SDR options are forthcoming.
- If you wish to contribute to the author, you can also purchase this upgrade to buy a refreshment
The application offers the following free features, which will remain free:
- Schedules that are easily updated from Eibi and stored locally on the device, eliminating the need for a data connection once schedules are downloaded
- Search by time to display all stations broadcasting to a selected target area at a specific time
- Search by station to view either the complete station schedule and frequencies or only broadcasts of a station at a chosen time
- Search by frequency to identify a station you are listening to at a specific time or any time
- Search by language to discover stations broadcasting in a specific language only
- Display of transmitter locations on maps, including beam direction as per the AOKI list
- Capability to log your DX catches, record audio snippets of the station, and share your logs using Android's sharing options
- Dark mode for ease of use in low-light environments
The results present the station name, broadcast start and end times, the target area of the station (e.g., EU, Asia, Africa, North America), and a list of frequencies alongside transmitter locations (swipe across for more frequencies).
